2 wins in 2 days

Had a couple of wins recently I thought I'd shared with you all. First I received an email from Sprinkle on FB saying I'd won a £25 Amazon voucher from their daily competition. If your quick you can still enter this here as it's running until Sunday. I've already spent mine on a new shopping trolley that I've been after for ages and a dvd boxset.

The next day I had a WEM saying I was a runner up in the Insidious 2 competition from Horrorcultfilms. Won myself a T-shirt, Torch and Dice Set.

Not having a bad month so far and looking forward to seeing what else I can win!

January Wins and Blog Competitions

I've started being a bit more creative this year and am giving Blog competitions a go for the first time. I've never really had the time to do these but work is a bit slack at the moment so I thought I'd use my spare time to have a go.

Blog competitions do require effort and that's why they have lower entries, making your chances of winning greater. The competition will specify what topic you are to post about, how many words mimumum to write and if you need to add pictures or links etc. Often prizewinners are chosen at random so don't be too worried about your content and spelling.

I have just had a go at Moments that Mattered competition I found on MSE Forums. A few Bloggers are giving away an Ipad Mini courtesy of Lloyds Bank for writing about the things that mattered most in 2013. Check out my post for this and let me know your feedback.

On the 13th January I won a Weleda set from a Twitter competition from @Instyle_UK and next week I will be hosting a Valentines Sweepstake for all my lovely followers.

Also I have finally added my page to Bloglovin and would be really grateful if you all could follow my blog :)

Moments that Mattered in 2013

I was fortunate enough to go on holiday abroad not once, not twice but three times in 2013 and can say I've caught the holiday bug! I am dreaming of going back to Costa Teguise in Lanzarote and spending quality time with my partner, leaving the stresses of work behind for at least 10 days. We had a fab time here and met lots of lovely people. The restaurants are top notch and there is a nice little square with lots of bars and entertainment. We stayed at Apartmentos Celeste which is less than a 2 min walk from the square and 4 mins from the beach.

Main Beach in Teguise with a long stretch of sandy beaches and a windsurfers dream place!

The Dolphin Inn is great for a night out. It has Curry and Steak Nights and Quizzes every night where you can win prizes. Every time you buy a drink you get a raffle ticket into the nightly draw. Who needs an excuse to drink more on holiday?

Pueblo Marinero Square - Every Friday they have a market selling jewellery, bags, glasses and more!

The first time we went was in February and they don't call it Breezy Teguise for fun. Believe me it was so windy at times that I couldn't open the hotel window and heard whistling all night! People thought I was mad for wearing a dress in the evening but I soon learnt to wear jeans and ended up wearing my coat most nights. We did have 2 good days of sunshine and still had a great time.

The second time we went was in July so it was much better weather and we also took the brother in law with us who had no trouble finding an English paper and a pint of Tetleys! It was his first holiday abroad at the grand age of 34 and I think he was a bit overwhelmed but he has now caught the bug and can't wait to return.

Brothers Behaving Badly
Enjoying Cocktails
And Ice Cream....

As soon as we got home I was already planning the next trip and we managed a week away in October. I was lucky enough to find some really good deals. I know people who have spent the same amount on one holiday as I did on three!

I'm looking forward to 2014 and am planning on going back in June.  I can honestly say these trips have changed our life and we now have something to look forward to each year and keep us focused on our goals. We hope to try out Tenerife or Gran Canaria next so keep your eyes peeled for more holiday snaps. X

Back to Work Blues and New Years Resolutions

I've now been back at work for 1 week and Christmas and New Year seem to have past by in a blur. Although every year is always the same, we spend so much time planning and looking forward to it and then it's all over and were faced with the harsh reality of another year of worry, work and daily stresses. I am aiming this year to not do so many extra hours and to focus more on my competitions and blogs. Hopefully one day I can work from home and be my own boss.

For 2014 I have made some resolutions that I really hope I stick to. The main one and the hardest  is to give up smoking. I have smoked since I was 15 years old so just over half my life and it's always been something I've enjoyed. I know it sounds silly and pathetic to say this but I really do like to smoke. My problem now is that I can feel it taking it's toll, especially on my breathing, and I've had a few scares recently were I have found it difficult to breathe. So I have decided that although I don't really want to quit, I must for my own sake and health. After all I don't want COPD or Emphysema and don't think I could cope knowing that I am continually making myself worse.

I have started by signing up to NHS Quitline and hope they will provide me with free NRT. I am awaiting a phone call to sort this out, but in the meantime I have managed to go from 15 a day to 5!! I purchased a Skycig (electronic) cigarette that comes with 5 different flavored cartridges and is really helping me cut down.

One of my habits is that I always have a cigarette when I do something like walking to the bus stop, talking on the phone and especially having an alcoholic drink. I have found it useful to use the Skycig in the situations as I still feel like I'm smoking. It is very realistic and even lights up and has smoke which is odourless and tar free.

The other thing I would like to do is to get healthier. When I was younger I used to cycle everywhere and I was a whizz on roller blades. These are the 2 things I would like to get back into and I would like to join the gym with my partner so we can work out together as he does need to loose a little bit of weight.

I've started eating fruit again and trying to add more veg to meals. I work late so it's been too easy to come home and get a take-away or a microwave meal. Hopefully once I quit smoking my sense of smell and taste will improve so I will enjoy my meals more.

I must remember.........

I know it will be hard but I will try to focus on what I will feel like when i'm finally smoke free and what I can spend all my extra cash on :)

Once again a very Happy New Year to you all and I look forward to hearing about your wins and new years resolutions x

Crazy for Roboform

Being a serious comper takes time and effort and the key to success is entering as many as possible. Having a gadget that can enter all your details for you and even submit your form is a godsend and it's only been recently that I have discovered the power of RoboForm.

Having previously used Google Chrome to enter my details, I was disappointed that it didn't always fill in forms correctly, and it took me more time and effort to change and edit these than it would have entering normally.

After listening to what fellow compers have said I decided to give the free trial a whirl. After all I had nothing to loose. I was pleasantly surprised that it was so quick and easy to download. The Toolbar facility lets me choose if I want to simply fill forms or submit and also manages all my logins and passwords so I don't have to keep logging into sites.

I would recommend everyone gives the free trial a go just to see how quick you can enter all the great competitions out there. If your a mum or full time worker with little time then this is just the thing.

Download your free trial here

For a 1 year subscription it only costs £7.95 so well worth the expense when you think of the things you could win in return.

Purchase here

Good Luck x

Happy New Year!

A big hello to all my followers and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all won some great prizes at Christmas and fingers crossed for more wins to follow in the New Year.

I didn't do very well this December with wins but had a Winners Email or (WEM) as us Compers call it on the 2nd Jan. I was thrilled to have won a vintage handbag and scarf from Retrochick from their Advent Competition.

I will be hosting a new prize giveaway very soon so keep a look out for it and in the mean time keep me updated of all your win and feel free to ask me any questions you have and I'll be more than happy to help you all.

Good luck! x
